No matter where you go to buy food or supplements, in the supplement isle you will find plenty of fish oil supplements. Heck, you can buy a big giant tub of em for about 9 bucks! But is taking any type of fish oil supplement important? And if yes, what should you get, something that costs more but gives you less or something that costs less or gives you more?

Well, just recently I read that many experts are saying that fish oil supplements are important and some are saying they are the SINGLE MOST important supplement. Whether or not this is actually true, I know for a fact that I do not go a single day without them. Simply put, they are a disease fighter, a muscle mass builder and a body fat burner. And whether you are active or sedentary, fish oil is extremely beneficial to you.

Fish oil supplements are important for helping you fight disease because of the two types of omega-3s they contain: docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). These two omega 3 fatty acids produce anti-inflamitory hormones, which can combat inflammation and chronic disease. With fish oil, you can reduce the risk of cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

Because they help build muscle mass, fish oil is popular among athletes and active people Fish oils supplements are important in helping enlarge the muscle cells and increase concentration of protein within the cells. They also help muscles use insulin and amino acids for better protein synthesis.

My most commonly asked question: “What can I do to lose some fat?” I am now recommending that people use fish oil supplements because they will increase your metabolic rate so you can burn more calories. Someone asked me yesterday “What age does the body’s metabolism slow down?” and I said “whenever you allow it to”. Fish oil supplements are important for keeping your metabolism kindled. Not only that, but it allows your body to burn fat as fuel rather than using, say, muscle tissue as fuel.

Now, if you are are seasoned reader to this blog, then you know my mantra: “You get what you pay for”. If you by the bargain tub of fish oil supplements, then do you honestly think you will get what you pay for? Honestly, the $9 tub of 5,000 fish oil caplets is a 100% waste of $9! Use that money to buy a superior product instead. I always recommend Core Omega-3, from the creators of P90X. It’s w

hat I have been using 7 days a week for the past 3 years.

I am still not convinced one way or another based on the research as to whether or not they are hype. I look at it this way, a full year supply of fish oils costs me about $5. That is pretty cheap assurance in my opinion. If you are eating fish though regularly though or even occasionally I bet they are not too big of a worry.

  2. FIVE BUCKS for fish oil?? I dunno if I would want a supplement that cheap. You get what you pay for in my opinion. The best stuff is third party tested–meaning someone in a lab with a control group outside of the company tested it. If that’s what you are using, awesome, but I bet at that price, it isn’t.
ANd I loveeee fish. Salmon especially. When it comes to salmon, get the WILD CAUGHT STUFF, not the “farm-raised” kind. Wild caught fish are a much better source of omega-3′s because they aren’t spending time lazily circling around concrete tanks and fattening up on dubious manmade pellets for food. Plus, farm-raised fish don’t taste as good, so make sure when you get your fish, they have been spending time fording through the mountain streams or oceans, sustaining themselves on marine life.

  4. Yes, high quality fish oil is not cheap. THe cheap stuff is garbage; you get what you pay for. Are you promoting a fish oil to clients to make money?

  5. AlVo from organic protein benefits says:

Fish oil is a great supplement and is not cheap. It is recommended for those who practice fitness and bodybuilding. But is not irreplaceable. There are vegan people who consumes only organic supplements.

  6. Fish oil is a best choice but its really expensive in the market.

  7. Sam from PureGarciniaCambogia says:

I totally agree. Fish oil like any other supplement will be useful only if it is qualitative. And in most cases they are expensive.
