When Anxiety is Too Much to Bear
ByFitness has been an incredible outlet for me to deal with some of the emotions and challenges that come up in my life. It is one of several, another one being prayer. We all face challenges, and we all are in the same boat when it all comes down to it in life, though some to much more severe degrees than others. So, when anxiety is too much to bear, we should never feel like we should go it alone. We truly do need each other, even if we find it hard to trust one another at times. I’ve talked to people who have had a hard time dealing with anxiety because they just don’t trust anyone to help them; they have been burned in the past by people and they never want to feel it again. I can empathize with you on that one if you are someone who is reading this and feels that way.
When it comes down to it, if anxiety is too much to bear, the best thing to do is seek help. If you have access to a professional, be open and 100% honest; hold nothing back. They cannot help you fully if you lie or hold back what is bothering you, especially if you are tremendously anxious or depressed. Since I said you should be open, I will lead by example. One thing that I know for me is that the death of my dad was one of the hardest things I had ever had to deal with. I remember the feeling of trying to cope with that and trying to go to sleep that night. Hearing the words of the police officer on the phone telling my mom and I that my dad had passed on…I can still hear it in my head right now as I type this 6 years later. I really had to seek God and be open about my life to not let an event like that wear me down. And fortunately a little after a year and a half, I began using Beachbody’s fitness programs, and those also began to help me.
About my dad — he had an entrepreneurial spirit. Back in the 70′s and 80′s he had his own business fixing alarms and being a repair guy. I guess that same entrepreneurial spirit ignited with me after he died and that is one of the big reasons I began to earn money with Beachbody in the first place. I’m looking for people with the same kind of drive to join our team of Beachbody Coaches.
I know what it is like to feel failure — everyone fails and it is that failure that helps us succeed! Feeling defeated is one thing, but hopelessness is a different story altogether. If you are looking at the future and saying to yourself, “you know what, there isn’t really anything that is going to make life any better. In fact, the future looks worse from here, and there is nothing I can do to change it”, this is when it is time to realize that you need to speak to a professional. You need to know that others can help you — let them.
